Hi, it's been a long time since the last time I posted on my blog, pardon me, but I was and still busy hehehe. Yet, I think I wanna post something today and topic for today is something that have been my experience lately, honestly I have this "thing" for years but this "thing" just came back again recently. Anxiety Disorder of mine is the problem, I would like to post about Anxiety Disorder next time, today I want to post about Mental Health. On this pandemic era, mental health become the trending topic, so many people that get affected because the uncertainty, the economic collapse, and etc.
But before, I write about this, first thing first, what is mental health?

Mental health refers to cognitive, behavioural, and emotional well-being. It affects how we feel, think, and act. Mental health is so important for human to have a good life. It also helps how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. There are many factors to affect the mental health, such as :
Biological Factors
Life Experiences
Family History
Socioeconomic situation
Gender & Age
Occupation
There are many different mental disorders with different presentations. These conditions that affect your thinking, feeling, mood, and behaviour and can affect your ability to others and function each day.
So, what are the earliest signs for having Mental Health problem?
Feeling helpless or hopeless
Eating/sleeping too much or too little
Thinking of harming yourself or others
Inability to perform daily tasks
Hearing voices or believing things that not true
Feeling numb
Smoking, drinking, using drugs more than usual
What should we do, if we have these symptoms?
There are various methods for managing mental health problems and the methods between people are different. The individual needs to work with the doctor that can help them to identify what they need and provide them with suitable treatment. Some treatments are Psychotherapy, Medication, and Self-help.
Psychotherapy
This treatment also known as talk therapy, this treatment aims to help people understand their feelings and equip them to face the new challenges. Psychotherapy helps when people have depression, low self-esteem, addiction, bereavement, and other factors. It also can help to treat the bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and the other mental health problems. People often combine this treatment with medication, tho it's not always. To see the positive results, people must willing to follow the procedure of treatment as the plan and find the suitable therapist whom they can trust.
Medication
In this method, people will need to take prescribed medications, such as antipsychotics, antidepressants, and anxiolytic drugs. These medications cannot cure the mental disorders but can improve symptoms and help people to resume the social life whilst they work on their mental health.
Self-help
Besides from the outside, people that having mental health problems need to help theirself from the inside, which means the changing from their own lifestyle or habit. The changes may include reducing alcohol, eating a balanced and nutritious diet, and sleeping more. Having a support network is important either to recovery from mental illness.
So, I think it's enough for now, I would write some about mental health again next time. I really believe, we can go through this together. We are stronger together, we can heal, we can have future whilst the scars from the past remind us that we are warrior, we are survivor. Stay safe and don't forget to have some love, because love is one of the weapons that make us strong even in the darkest times. -TN
